Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: September 2026

GR Innovative Builders ("we," "us") is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is part of how we build — both for our own site and for the people we serve.

The standard we follow

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the current version of the international standard most widely referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and similar laws. Conformance is an ongoing effort, not a one-time certificate. We believe this site substantially meets WCAG 2.2 AA as of the date above.

How we test

We check accessibility with a combination of automated and manual methods:

  • Automated testing with axe-core across every page template on the site.
  • Manual keyboard testing — tabbing through every page, the contact form, the menus, the photo viewer, and the testimonial carousels to confirm everything is operable without a mouse and that focus never gets stuck.
  • Contrast measured from the rendered page, including white text over photographs, where we sample the actual pixels behind the text rather than trusting a nominal color.
  • Manual checks of focus visibility, text reflow down to a 320-pixel-wide screen (400% zoom), tap-target sizes, heading structure, and the "reduce motion" setting.
  • Review of image alternative text and link wording for clarity and meaning.

Automated tools alone only catch part of what matters, so we pair them with these manual checks. No automated tool can fully replace testing with real assistive technology, and we treat this as continuing work.

What we work toward

Across the site, we aim to provide meaningful alternative text for images, full keyboard operability with a visible focus indicator, a clear page structure (a single main landmark, a logical heading order, and labeled form fields), colors chosen to meet AA contrast, and respect for your system's "reduce motion" setting.

Where gaps can still appear

Some things a tool cannot settle, and some depend on services we do not control:

  • We have not yet sat down with a screen reader and listened through the whole site with someone who uses one daily. Automated checks and keyboard testing do not replace that, and we are not going to claim otherwise.
  • Our project galleries carry long, detailed photo descriptions. We think detail helps, but if it is more than you want to hear, tell us and we will rebalance it.
  • The feed of our Instagram posts is supplied by a third party, so parts of its behavior can change as that service updates.
  • The contact form currently hands your message to your own email program. Any anti-spam check we add later will be one designed to verify you without a puzzle to solve.

If anything here blocks you, contact us and we will help you get the same information or service another way.

Tell us about a barrier

If you run into a barrier on this site, please call (510) 617-8559 or reach us through our contact page. We aim to respond within five business days, and we will work with you to provide what you need through another channel if necessary.

About this statement

This reflects our good-faith effort to meet WCAG 2.2 AA and the accessibility expectations of the ADA. It is not a legal guarantee, and it is not a certification by any third party. We review this statement periodically and update it as the site and the standards evolve.
