East Bay general contractor · 30+ years

Built to live in for decades

A family-operated construction team bringing new life to homes with full renovations, kitchen and bathroom remodels, thoughtful additions, and custom backyard ADUs—our specialty.

Who we are

Your home matters — just as much as the family that builds it

GR Innovative is family-operated and led by Gilbert Rodriguez and his daughter, Marlyn. With more than three decades of industry experience, Gilbert directs the work in the field and ensures every project meets our standards. Marlyn oversees the company’s administration and daily operations, serving as your primary contact from the initial consultation through project completion.

We partner and work closely with experienced architects and designers and have built a trusted network of skilled subcontractors and reliable suppliers who share our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and service.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are at the heart of what we do, including detached, attached, converted, and junior ADUs. We also specialize in home additions, custom homes, kitchen renovations, bathroom renovations and remodels throughout the East Bay and Marin County.

“This 720-Square-Foot Sculptural ADU Was Designed for Both Work and Play”

Every kind of ADU

A studio, a rental, or a place for the family

Some clients come with an architect and a big finish list. Others want something simple that works as a rental. Same crew and the same line-item proposal either way.

Our ADU process

How an ADU actually gets built

ADUs are most of what we build. Four stages, and we are involved in all of them — not handed a set of plans at the end.

01

Feasibility

We walk the property with you and, together with our architects, work out whether an ADU pencils on your lot — and which type fits it.

02

Design

We collaborate with your architect or designer from the start, so what gets drawn is what can actually be built to budget.

03

Permits

Plans, engineering, and the city process, coordinated by us. Permitting differs city to city across the East Bay; we know these ones.

04

Build

One team on site, clear billing with no surprises, and a schedule you can see. Clients tell us this is the part that sets us apart.

What homeowners say

"We used GR for our 400sq ft. ADU - they were great from start to finish, even with foundation and electric challenges that we had to overcome. All of their subcontractors are also hard workers. GR listened to any concerns we had and were open to changes we wanted from the original designs. We are grateful to have worked with them and recommend them."
