Back of the house with the new addition, a wide wood deck, white metal railings, and glass doors open to the kitchen

Additions

An addition has to look like it was always there. That means matching rooflines, siding, and window proportions on the outside while solving the structural and permitting problems on the inside — a reinforced floor for a gym, a new bearing line for a second story, a foundation that ties into what is already standing.

Living area extensions

Pushing out the back or side of the house to give the main living space room to breathe.

Bedroom and bathroom additions

The most common request, and the one most constrained by setbacks and existing plumbing runs.

Second story additions

New bearing lines, foundation upgrades, and a stair that has to come out of somewhere.

Office and gym additions

A 600-square-foot gym we built needed a reinforced floor structure for the weight load, solar operable skylights, and four-panel glass pocket doors for privacy.
