Hercules Kitchen Remodel

The old kitchen in this Hercules home had honey oak cabinets and black counters, and it felt darker than the room needed to be. We tore it out and started over with white shaker cabinets that run all the way to the ceiling.

With so much white, the room needed something darker to anchor it. That became the deep brown range hood over the gas cooktop, which pulls your eye to the back wall. The island is painted a soft blue-gray and topped with quartz that wraps down both ends in a waterfall.

The island is also where most of the work happens. It holds a deep stainless farmhouse sink, a wine fridge at the end, and seats for four along the front. A built-in refrigerator and double wall ovens line up on the side wall, so the cooking zone stays open.
